A total of 97 inmates in Sharjah have recently converted to Islam during Islamic rehabilitation.
The inmates decided to convert to Islam after reading a lot of books, gathering information and learning about Islamic history and culture.
Col Ahmed Abdull Aziz Shuhail, Deputy Director of Sharjah Police said that the rehabilitation program has played great role in encouraging the inmates to learn about Islam and then convert.
The program includes lectures, distribution of publications in various languages to educate the inmates about the Islamic teachings.
The inmates also are receiving training programs to learn various skills which they can use in their future life after they complete their prison terms.
