Saif Al Saadi, Ali Alsabaan and Najah Al Masaeed presented a vast array of their poetry and enthralled the audience with their verses.
Among the many topics covered, the poems praised the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and General Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Defence Minister.
Organised as cultural event, the poets presented their work in the traditional 'Nabatti' poetry style, which is quite different from the classical style.
Apart from the poetry, the event also gave a chance to visitors to have a glimpse into the cultural richness and heritage of the emirates.
Attended by a large gathering of the media and other officials, the Press Club was magnificently transformed into an ancient Arabic village with heirlooms such as ancient coffee pots, cushions, women's dresses and flags transporting the audience to a bygone era.
An authentic Arabic dinner that included a wide array of delicacies was also on offer.
