The dedicated men and women are carrying with them copies of a booklet, Sachchai Gujarat Ki (Truth of Gujarat), for free distribution in the holy city where the fledgling party does not have a major support base.

Gujarat AAP media in-charge Harshil Nayak told Khaleej Times that all AAP workers who had gone to Varanasi had been trained and could reel out the real statistics on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-ruled state to nail Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s ‘hollow’ development model.

“The AAP has come up with a plan to swell up the crowd with volunteers from various parts of the country to make voters aware about the Modi’s false claims of achievements”, said Nayak, adding that the party was planning to go full steam in Varanasi which would vote on May 12.

He said from April 10, Kejriwal was likely to station himself in Varanasi for a month — right up to the election — holding roadshows and public meetings, going door to door to understand local issues and highlighting the “failed Gujarat model” in all assembly constituencies under Varanasi.
