The Abu Dhabi City Municipality has inspected men's and women's salons as part of a campaign aimed at verifying the readiness of these outlets for receiving customers during Eid Al Adha. The municipal teams visited 63 men's salons and 35 women's beauty parlours.
The teams spread health awareness among salon employees and stressed the importance of abiding by hygiene rules and regulations for public safety.
The campaigns will continue at Al Shamkha, Al Mafraq, Al Wathba, Al Shawamekh and Baniyas areas as part of efforts and plans for Eid Al Adha.

"The municipality will work continuously to protect the health and safety of community members. It obliges salons of all types to adhere to all health stipulations ... The municipality will not tolerate offenders," said the civic body in a statement.
Through the visits, the inspection teams noticed "growing compliance on the part of hairdressing salons and beauty parlours with the required health stipulations". It resulted in only two warnings.
"The number of offences has remarkably reduced in matters relating to the use of illegal materials constituting health hazards. A small quantity of black and white henna has been seized. The results illustrated the growing awareness and compliance with the public health stipulations among the staff of those outlets," the municipality added. "This is a result of the success of the continuous educative campaigns held by the municipality."

The inspection campaigns will continue during Eid.
