ABU DHABI - Parents can seek help from the Abu Dhabi Education Zone (Adez) when re-locating their children in schools here, according to an official.
Nadya Mohsen Maddi, Deputy Director of the Private Education at Adez said: Parents should know that they have to come to the education zone when they cannot get admission to private schools in the Capital.”
She pointed out that the parents should not focus on a particular school. “Adez will help parents to find places for their children in a convenient school,” said Maddi.
According to the private education law, the intake must be 30 students in each class.
The Ministry of Education (MoE) endorsed these standards to ensure the quality of the education process and to protect the health of the students.
“Some school buildings have classes that can accommodate more than the stipulated number. However, it should be endorsed by Adez,” she said.
A father of a Pakistani fifth grade student, had applied for an admission in an Indian school in Mussafah.
The school had no capacity to enroll the child.
The father, who declined to be named, said: “I am afraid of losing this academic year. The school administration has demanded an Adez approval.”
“When we went to Adez, the officials wanted a letter from the school saying that they have a vacant slot.
“Hence, we need an exceptional approval,” he said.
Nadya Mohsen Maddi commenting on the problem, said: “It cannot be accepted that the student’s father insists on enrolling his child to that particular school.
“We have other schools which have the capacity to enroll more students. Parents should cooperate with us.”
