A motor driving course has been designed for those who wish to drive in the desert. Abu Dhabi-listed Emirates Driving Company, which provides driving education in the capital, is offering a course for Desert Driving Season 2016.
The course is aimed at raising awareness of 4WD drivers in the desert and to teach them how to navigate through the Abu Dhabi desert.
"EDC provides the highest quality driving education, training and standards that exceed our customers' expectations and contribute to road safety by increasing awareness in our society," the company said.
The programme provides the necessary guidance and highly equipped vehicles to deal with challenging situations in the desert. The course is designed to deliver the desert driving experience; enhance the confidence of the 4x4 drivers; to be familiar with 4X4 equipment; navigation in the desert using maps, compass and GPS; and how to live in the desert.
EDC agreed with Swedish Road Authority (SweRoad) to provide consultancy services within the road sector to build a foundation aimed for "accidents free" driving education system.
