Worldwide standing ovations of the Illusionists has led to a second, even more spectacular production of the magic show, which will reach the UAE this weekend.

The Illusionists 2.0, presented by event management agency Alchemy Project, will bring seven of the world’s best magicians to Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Palace on September 25 and to Dubai’s World Trade Centre on September 30.

“We’re incredibly excited to have the Illusionists back ... (in the) UAE, and even more excited to host it for the first time in the UAE’s Capital, Abu Dhabi, after ... (hosting) ... the Illusionist 1.0 last year in Dubai,” said Mac S. Far, the CEO and managing partner of Alchemy Project. “This brand new show is much stronger than the first one and will surely amaze the fans with much more cutting-edge, thrilling and exciting magic.”

The new production, said to be the biggest ever selling magic show, is using cutting-edge visual effects, including giant 3D interactive projections, death-defying stunts, mind reading and even comical magic.

“The show is a world first, with each of the seven international illusionists the best in their niche that together create a 21st century stage (so) spectacular that (it) will leave audiences spellbound,” said Simon Painter, creative producer of Illusionists 2.0.

The seven magicians include Raymond Crowe - The Unusualist, who specialises in optical illusions. He performed alongside Bon Jovi and David Letterman, earning a standing ovation from more than 3,000 magicians at an international convention.

British born James More - The Deceptionist is known for death defying, high-risk tricks and stunts.

Adam Trent - The Futurist is bringing technology out of the magic hat. Representing a new generation of magicians, he fuses classic techniques with dancing, comedy and technology.

Portugal’s Luis De Matos - The Master Magician is a creator of mega illusions. With a flair for theatrics, he uses the latest video techniques to take his tricks to superlative status.

Aaron Crow - The Warrior attained fame for his weapon magic, mastering some of the most dangerous acts of mentalism on stage without uttering a single word. Using swords, paintball guns and highly powerful crossbows, Belgium’s foremost international magic sensation creates acts that are as unusual as they are entertaining.

Of South Korean origins, Yu Ho-Jin - The Manipulator is renowned for card illusions.

Jeff Hobson - The Trickster likes to get a good laugh while fooling his audience with his magic, bringing to the stage some old fashioned (or is it?) comedy magic.
