Actor apologises as organisers fail to get permission for show

DUBAI —The second show of the play ‘Al Talaina Wasalo’, starring Egyptian actor Ahmad Bedeer which was being performed at the Iranian Club in Dubai, was cancelled on Friday, by the Tourism Department apparently due to certain procedural lapses.

The department slapped a fine of Dh40,000 on the Iranian theatre company which had organised the show. The Egyptian artiste and his team gathered in front of the theatre to apologise to the audience who were waiting. He said the cancellation of the show was not their decision, but it happened because the organising company was not aware of certain procedures. He said there was a contract with the RAK National Theatre to conduct two shows in RAK and another two in Dubai.
