According to booksellers in the city, there is a huge demand for the book which has created quite a stir in various parts of the world. A number of people in Dubai have already booked copies in advance.

Some bookstores have even slashed the price to make it more affordable to readers. As a senior official of the Book Corner in Dubai put it, “The book is already a craze. Since its release in September 25, we have booked more than 950 copies. And the demand is going up."

“For the first lot, we have ordered 5,000 books. The original price of the book is Dh133. But we will offer it to our customers at Dh 99,” he added.

Nusrat Ibrahim, sales executive of Jashn-a-Maal, another bookshop in Dubai, said, "We have booked over 200 copies so far. The bookings have been good and sales are expected to rise once it hits the stalls.”

According to booksellers, the controversy the autobiography has managed to generate is attracting a lot of readers.

“Pervez Musharraf is a well-known man and people are expecting some shocking revelations. The man has had an interesting life altogether. It is good for us. The advance bookings have been wonderful,” said an official at the Book World in Bur Dubai.

“He is the President of our country. And we want to know more about him. We have heard many stories about his childhood. I hope they are all there in the book. I am waiting to grab a copy. I have heard that he has come up with some controversial statements as well," said Aamir Hussain, a bank employee, who has already booked a copy.
