Aerobatic show success a tribute to Al Ain City

AL AIN — The Organising Committee of Al Ain Aerobatic Show held a gala dinner for participating teams and individuals at Al Ain Palace National Museum.

The ceremony was attended by the committee members, sponsors and media representatives. The show, participated by world renowned pilots and organisations, featured breathtaking aerobatic displays.

Mohammed Abdullah bin Barrak Al Dhaheri, General Coordinator of Al Ain Aerobatic Show, welcomed all participants of the event, which was organised by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and UAE Air Forces and Air Defence, and closed down with amazing success and extraordinary attendance.

Bin Barrak said the show was a huge success for Al Ain City and attracted about 130, 000 visitors.

He said that Al Ain Air Show had now become an annual world sport tradition, and a landmark for the city. The five -day air spectacle was packed with thrill and surprises.

“That impressive success would not have been achieved without the full support of its patron, General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces; Shaikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority and Head of the Higher Organising Committee, and Major General Pilot Mohammed bin Suwaidan Al Qamzi, Commander of Air Forces and Air Defence and Deputy Chairman of the Higher Organising Committee,” he added.

Bin Barrak extended his thanks and appreciation for all organisations that helped in organising the event.

At the ceremony, all sponsors were honoured. Platinum sponsors included ADNOC Distribution and Etihad Airways; while Gold sponsors included Etisalat, Pilatus Aircraft Ltd from Switzerland, First Gulf Bank, and Abu Dhabi National Hotels; and Silver sponsors were Al Ain Mall, Gulf Aircraft Maintenance Company, Rolls-Royce, and BAE Systems.
