Ageing telephone booths removed

AL GHARBIA — Al Gharbia Municipality and etisalat jointly removed the unused telephone booths in the Mizeraa locality.

The action was taken to keep in line with the digital and telecommunications revolution that has swept the world.

“A total of 17 telephone booths have been removed in Mizeraa, and the municipality will dismantle and remove the telephone cabins which were installed on the side of the main road and along side the low-cost housing colonies and farms. They have not been used by the public for long time as people have switched to mobile phones”, said Rashid Ghareeb Al Mansouri, Director, Environmental and SocialServices Department, Liwa.
