Agent says Kia official used abusive language

DUBAI — The Public Prosecution in Dubai will investigate on November 19 the complaint lodged by the agent of KIA Motors in Egypt against the Dubai-based KIA Motors’ regional manager for Middle East and Africa alleging that he had used abusive language.

The alleged abusive words used by the regional manager were contained in a correspondence sent to him, the complainant Waleed Twafiq Sadiq said.

He said the manager had accused him of fraud, cheating and lying. The regional manager had also deliberately sent letters couched in offensive language which amounted to slander against him and other companies of which he was also the agent but which had no relation with the complainant, he said. These companies were the competitors of KIA Motors.

Defence lawyer Sameer Jaffar had lodged a complaint with Bur Dubai Police station that his client had on July 16 this year, received at his place of work at KIA Motors and the National Automobiles manufacturing company DAMCO in Egypt, two signed letters by fax from K.H. Chung, Korean national.

The letters contained false allegations.

The regional manager, according to Mr Jaffar, had described his client as “a fraud and cheat” claiming that the original and copies of orders for repair, the subject matter of auditing and checking, were seized by the tax officers.
