He confirmed that the strike is still going on and it has affected some sectors including Goa and Chennai.

Abhay Pathak, Air India’s Regional Manager for the Gulf and MENA, told Khaleej Times that the same four services from UAE airports have continued to haul stranded passengers but he refused to comment on the widely-reported news that 90 per cent of Air India’s flights have been grounded. “I can only speak of my situation here. I cannot speak for India’s. The only difference in yesterday’s and today’s situation is the chartering of one flight from Air Arabia to provide connection to Hyderabad-bound passengers,” he said on Saturday.

Television channels reported that 90 per cent of the flights of Air India were cancelled as the strike by its 800 pilots entered into the fourth day, leaving thousands of passengers stranded in various airports of their network.

However, Pandey maintained that the situation in Dubai reflected a very little number of passengers stranded as they continued to feed and haul those who had checked in to the airport.

He advised all passengers to get in touch with the airline’s offices before heading to the airport because cancellations are happening even at the last minute. “Those who are scheduled to fly tomorrow or the days ahead should check the office first before leaving,” he said.
