From Saturday, Ajman residents will have to pay for parking on Al Ittihad Road considered one of the most vital roads in the emirate.
Dr. Mohammed bin Omair, director of engineering department at Ajman Municipality said the project has been executed under instruction of Shaikh Rashid bin Humaid, Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Ajman Department of Planning and Municipality,in order to organise the parking and prevent congestion on roads.
He added that the project was completed on January 16, but inspectors will be deployed to fine the violators effective, Saturday. The charging of the parking lots will be from 8am to 1pm and from 17pm to 21pm.
Parking tickets will now cost Dh2 per hour in the morning and Dh1 in the evening.
He added that the project was executed in response to the demands of people who requested organised parking in residential areas to avoid exploitation of parking spaces by some people.
