Al Ain schools overcrowded

AL AIN — The Al Ain Educational Zone (AAEZ) is facing the problem of overcrowded classes in some secondary schools in Al Ain. Saeed Rashid Al Niyady, the AAEZ Director, said that the students rush to Khalifa bin Zayed and Zayed the First secondary schools, being prestigious institutes caused the problem as in some classes, students’ numbers went beyond 37 in each class.

The Ministry of Education bylaws punish schools that have more than the standard number of students per classroom. Al Niyady highlighted that students are distributed to schools according to students’ residential areas, but some students choose other schools in conformity with their interests.

On the other hand, the AAEZ Director appealed to students’ parents not to submit to some schools’ administration that insist on sending them to particular tailors for the school uniform, adding that the parents are free to go wherever they want to buy the dresses. He called upon the administration not to take fee for the school uniform, adding that schools which force students to buy the uniform break ministry laws. “Parents should make sure that the administrations are involved in such breaches, as some teachers act without informing the educational and the administrative bodies,” he added.
