The Bawadi Mall rink, which will have a capacity for 200 skaters and a spectator area, is claimed in a statement by the company to be the region’s first artificial skating rink.
“The new technology is suitable for metal blade shoes and roller shoes, offering a great experience to both professionals and amateurs,” said Khalid Shraim, Marketing Manager, Bawadi Mall.
“The rink’s net area is 800 square metres.”
Shraim said the rink would be part of the 10,000sqm Family Entertainment Centre which also includes a bowling alley and a food court.
Ahmed Ziad, an Al Ain resident said that his sons were happy using the ice rink, which was opened unofficially earlier.
“It is really amazing and enabled visitors to practise skating in a nice environment,” said Ahmed.
Another resident, Alaa Bashir said the rink is spacious and very clean.
“It is very good to find everything under one roof,” Bashir said.
