Al Ameri who is also the general manager at the water sports company, Empros owned by his father, Salem S Al Amry, has undertaken the mission to motivate people to contribute generously to ‘The Future Centre’ which takes care of the children and adults with special needs.

“I feel exhausted, 826-km ride on jet ski was really demanding, and as I touched the shore after the last leg of the ride I felt greatly relieved. But I’m also extremely happy to have completed the mission successfully, and thereby reinforce my conviction that nothing is impossible. Then there is the extreme satisfaction of being able to contribute something to the children with special needs,’’ Al Ameri told Khaleej Times.

He had started from Kalba, on the Fujairah border with Oman at about 0100 (1 Am) on Friday and riding across all seven emirates coastline went up to the end of Abu Dhabi at Khawr Al Udayd on the UAE-Saudi border, before returning to Corniche in Abu Dhabi.

A three-member crew team was accompanying him to support him. “Everything was perfect, the crew, and coast guard supported me very well. The only hardship was the weather, at times it got very bad and I had to break the ride during night hours,’’ he said.

Salem S Al Amry, the father was there at the beach to receive his son hours before . “I have to hide somewhere to hide my tears as my son rides ashore on the jet ski. It was a risky decision, to let him start his ride on the jet sky at night hours. But the cause was worth it,’’ said Al Amry who works with Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company ADMA-OPCO. He was seen wiping his tears as he received and hugged Al Ameri when he stepped down from the jet ski.

Al Ameri’s mother, his wife, young baby, his other relatives, numerous friends and several staff members of Empros and ADMA-OPCO had converged at the beach to receive him. Some of the children and staff of the Future Centre were also present.
