Al Baraha hospital celebrates World Asthma Day

The event included several recreational and educational events for families who have children with asthma symptoms.

The open day included the distribution of educational brochures and awareness pamphlets about asthma disease as well as competitions that addressed important questions to children about their knowledge with asthma disease and a drawing competition for the best drawing about the disease.

Al Baraha Hospital also organized a training workshop in Al Owais Auditorium about the asthma disease. The workshop included lectures and seminars that were participated by a large numbers of pediatrics consultants who reviewed the best treatment techniques and protection methods against asthma disease.

Ahmed Obaid Al Khodaim, Director of Al Baraha Hospital stated that the awareness of asthma disease among children helps to protect the community for the challenges or consequences emerging from the disease.

He said: “The organization of such an event comes as part of the strategy of the ministry of health to activate social partnerships and disseminate health awareness within the community members and at the same time review the common diseases and fight lots of negative health practices emerging from the individuals’ misunderstandings or less knowledge with these diseases”.
