Al Qasba, the emirate’s landmark destination, succeeded in drawing a smile on the faces of visitors, specifically children, through a specially designed programme of exciting and entertaining events that were planned to mark this milestone.
The programme featured various shows, including happy clown shows, acrobatic performances and appearances by Al Qasba’s most loved cartoon characters, as well as face painting, a spectacular fireworks display and other fun-filled and entertaining events for all members of the family.
Fulfilling its promises, The Organising Committee distributed special gifts to children who were able to ride the tallest Ferris wheel, while the Al Qasba work team was involved in drawing a smile on children’s faces.
The Etisalat Eye of the Emirates was launched in 2005, and stands out as one of the most prominent landmarks in the emirate of Sharjah. The 60-metre high wheel has attracted thousands of visitors who got a chance to view Sharjah, as well as parts of Dubai and Ajman, from its 42 air-conditioned cabins.
Speaking on the occasion, Marwan Jassim Al Sarkal, CEO of Al Qasba Development Authority, said: ‘This celebration has become an annual tradition dedicated to highlight Al Qasba’s status as a distinguished leisure, cultural and entertaining landmark at both the local and regional levels.
As part of the celebrations, Staff members of the Etisalat Eye of the Emirates were honoured in recognition of their outstanding efforts in discharging their duties and assignments in a highly professional manner.
‘The honour came in line with Al Qasba’s keenness to encourage its staff members to exert further efforts and give more so as to improve their performance,’ Al Sarkal said.
He noted that this approach comes in keeping with Sharjah Government’s policy and strategic plan which emphasis on the need to honour each outstanding employee who performs his job sincerely and faithfully.
‘We are confident that employees have a direct impact on Al Qasba’s success and growth, and thus we are committed to developing and making best use of their skills, Al Sarkal said, adding that we aim by honouring outstanding employees to encourage the others to follow suit and develop their skills and efficiency.
He pointed out that Al Qasba has succeeded in establishing itself as the emirate’s main attraction for both the residents and visitors who come from all over the world to explore new places and get to know tourist and historical sites in the emirate.
