The warehouse housed a large quantity of electronic and plastic materials. There were no casualties, but the entire property was gutted.
The fire was put out by fire fighters from Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain and the armed forces and the entire operation took one hour, sources said. Colonel Abdullah Al Swaidi, Director General of Umm Al Quwain Civil Defence Department and Brigadier Gharaib Shabban, Director General of Sharjah Civil Defence supervised the operations.
A Source from Civil Defence, Sharjah said that because the stored items contained plastics, the fire fighters used water and foams, which helped a great deal in putting out the fire.
