A Saudi man broke off his engagement after his fiancee demanded a Lexus as her dowry.
The young man said that he had asked for the hand of the university student living in Jazan, reported Al Watan. The father of the girl said he will allow his daughter to stipulate what dowry she wants.
The man agreed to the terms. After all the arrangements were made and the marriage ceremony was about to take place, he was surprised with the request of a SR460,000 (Dh450,606) Lexus car as the dowry.
Reportedly, the man said that he had no issues with her as a person, but as her demands before marriage were troubling, those after marriage might be far worse.
