Capital's Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel is trying to change its perception of being a place meant only for the defence personnel.
"The amenities utilised only by high-ranked officers of the UAE Armed Forces were lately made open to public but the notion hasn't changed. We invite the general public to enjoy its wide-range of unique facilities," Armed Forces Officers Club and Hotel director of sales and marketing Dulce Ortega told Khaleej Times.
"We are a unique destination. We have a luxurious five-star hotel and plenty of recreation and sports facilities. We have spaces for international conferences, banquet halls and auditoriums too. The facilities here are open (to public) but people think it is not allowed for them to come in. We want to change that perception and attract more public. We want to share the culture and heritage of the UAE," Dulce said.
The hotel and club comprises variety of recreation facilities such as Children's Village, cinema, spa, Olympic swimming pool, shooting club, bowling, paintball and much more.
"Our destination is a perfect gateway to escape from the heat and ensure entertainment for all the family. Also, don't miss the European fine dining restaurant Kennedy," she said.
The 25mm state-of-the-art shooting range is a nice place for weekend, Dulce points out.
"Shooting is quite related to the history of this place. The renovation and extensive safety measures make this an ideal place for everyone including families," she added.
Caracal reloaded
Capital's first shooting club, built in 2008, is expecting more expats to enjoy the thrills of shooting, said Caracal Club manager Obaid Al Mazrouei.
There are instructors to help out the beginners. Children above 12 can shoot at the club but those below 18 needs to be accompanied by a guardian.
