Thousands of residents turned up in colourful attire during the Dubai Municipality's Health and Food Safety Festival, imbuing Kite Beach with a carnival spirit on Friday and Saturday.
Families and children were in for a treat as the civic body made health safety education fun, with activities that ranged from kite flying to painting competitions and live cooking.
The Dubai beach hosted beach soccer, volleyball and badminton competitions, and yoga sessions to spread awareness about a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, there were free health check-up kiosks, health workshops and seminars.
Residents were also told about the new inspection system that the municipality applied to restaurants and food establishments. People were introduced to the colour-coded inspection cards that help them know where a certain restaurant stands on the safety scale.
The festival brought together health and food enthusiasts, medical experts, fitness clubs, chefs and businesses focused on healthy living to promote healthy food and fitness awareness.
