The new facility, offering authentic ayurvedic therapy for all types of ailments, has been set up to enhance the reach of common expatriates to this time-tested traditional healthcare system, Shetty said in his inaugural speech.

“Many people from the Gulf region are going to India regularly to get the benefit of Ayurveda and other traditional medical systems. A facility such as this will help Arabs and other nationals to avail of the authentic Ayurvedic treatment in a cost-effective way in Dubai,” he said.

K Kumar, convener of Indian Community Welfare Committee (ICWC), presided the function, which was attended by Swami Gurumithran Jnana Thapaswi, joint secretary of Santhigiri Ashram. Manoj George, advisor of the Santhigiri Research Foundation Middle East Operation, and Dr K Sathyanarayan, consultant, Santhigiri Ayurveda Clinic, introduced the research activities and health care programmes of Santhigiri.

Madhavji, master of Friends of Yoga; Gurukulam Vijayan; K A Nazeer, president Indira Veekshanam Forum; and Sasikumar R Nair, president of TEXAS; offered felicitations at the meeting.
