flydubai recently resumed its flight schedule and is now open for bookings on its official website. As of the moment, residents can travel  to 24 destinations with flydubai, but more destinations and frequencies are expected soon.

According to Hamad Obaidalla, Chief Commercial Officer of flydubai, the number of destinations is expected to increase to 66 destinations over the course of the summer, depending on the countries and international travel regulations.

"Following the recent announcement, we welcome a return to service in a safe and measured way. We have redesigned our passenger journey that is built upon existing high standards to minimise the risk of transmission of Covid-19 and we can now bring people together once again. This, along with the clear and simple guidelines set out by the authorities means it's the perfect time to return to the skies," Obaidalla said.

The destinations currently open include  Addis Ababa, Alexandria, Almaty, Amman, Baku, Beirut, Belgrade, Bishkek, Bucharest, Dubrovnik, Juba, Kabul, Khartoum, Kiev, Krakow, Nur-Sultan, Prague, Sarajevo, Sofia, Tbilisi, Yerevan and Zanzibar.

Things to note before you take off

flydubai has released set of guidelines to help travellers - be it an international visitor, returning resident or UAE national or residents - experience a comfortable journey.  
"The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way we travel and we will all have to play our role. This is why we are sharing these simple steps for passengers to follow to enable them to travel safely and hassle-free this summer," said Ghaith Al Ghaith, Chief Executive Officer of flydubai.

Bringing friends and family to Dubai

.    Check the UAE visa requirements for the UAE, including visa on arrival.
.    Purchase international travel insurance that includes health coverage.
.    Complete a health declaration form that states you are free from Covid-19 symptoms and sign a quarantine undertaking form stating you will bear all costs of quarantine and treatment in the event of contracting the virus.
.    Take a PCR test ahead of travel. The certificate must show a negative result and have been issued within 96 hours of arrival.
.    Alternatively, you can take the test on arrival at Dubai International. The passenger will need to quarantine themselves until they receive their results. If the results are positive they must quarantine for 14 days.

Returning residents

.    Apply for approval to return to Dubai on the Dubai's General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) website.
.    Complete a health declaration form stating you are free from Covid-19 symptoms and sign a quarantine undertaking form stating you will bear all costs of quarantine and treatment in the event you contract the virus.

Outbound business or tourism

.    Check the IATA Travel Centre
website for updates and restrictions at the destination of travel.
.    You need to book a return ticket.
.    Purchase international travel insurance that includes health coverage.
.    Complete a health declaration form stating you are free from Covid-19 symptoms and sign a quarantine undertaking form stating you will bear all costs of quarantine and treatment in the event you contract the virus.

Tourists entering Dubai

.    Take a PCR test at Dubai International (unless you are able to present a negative result issued within the last 96 hours). Quarantine until the results of the test have been received.
.    If the results are positive, a 14-day quarantine period must be observed.
.    Download the Covid-19 - DXB Smart App (from Apple App Store or from Google Play Store) to register with the Dubai Health Authority before leaving the airport. There is free Wi-Fi available at Dubai International Airport.
.    Comply with all the precautionary COVID-19 measures in place in Dubai, including wearing a mask, observing social distancing and washing your hands regularly.
