DUBAI — The benefits gained from institutional partnership cannot be overemphasised. These include simplification of procedures, easing transactions, clearing hurdles, finalising dealings, developing joint services, improving joint performance and boosting the culture of team work, as well as benefiting the most from resources available with the partners, said Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Addressing a seminar themed Institutional Partnership and Team spirit organised by the Dubai Government Excellence Programme, Al Tayer said the main role is to render services to the public. The seminar focused on the significance of partnership in backing and boosting the standards of performance in different government entities.
Al Tayer quoted examples of the RTA-Dubai Police Headquarters cooperation in traffic engineering, registration and licensing, and partnership with Dubai Municipality in roads and car parks, train project and beautification of streets.
Dr Wafi Dawood, CEO for Operations and Planning at Knowledge and Human Development Authority KHDA delivered a speech on the importance of partnership and the team work.
“The institutional partnership is related to the aspects of interaction, cooperation among organisations, their human, financial, administrative and knowledge potentialities to achieve common objectives,” he said.
Professor Salah Al Mirri, Head of Government Partnerships and Partnership management at Dubai Municipality reviewed the institutional partnership, and demonstrated the duties of the management such as effective response to the requirements and needs of all partners with the municipality and commitment to the standards of partnership. Ahmed Al Mohiri, CEO of Planning and Social Development at the Community Development Authority spoke about the concept of partnership through governmental and social work and that the social responsibility constitutes part of the major social partnership.
He also focused on the fifth objective of the social development pronged-issue of Dubai Strategic Plan 2015, which aims at securing high quality social services that cater to the needs of the society. Dr Ziad Al Kahloot, Advisor of Quality and Excellence at Dubai Government Excellence programme reviewed the issues set for discussion at the seminar, views of the participants and proposed recommendations.
