He also highlighted that BITS Pilani, Dubai, was on track to becoming the leading ‘engineering’ institution in the Middle East. Till date, over 2,327 students have graduated from BITS Pilani Dubai campus.

The convocation ceremony was held at the BITS Pilani Campus in the Dubai International Academic City. BITS Pilani is the only dedicated engineering institution in the region and has the largest campus spread across a 15-acre plot in Dubai International Academic City with an excellent academically conducive infrastructure and highly qualified faculty.

Prof. Bijendra Nath Jain, vice-chancellor of BITS Pilani, stated: “The institution is ranked amongst the top 10 publicly or privately funded engineering institutions in India as also among the top few in the UAE. Going forward, we aspire to be listed as a top-class research-led university in Asia and the world, and not simply in India or the UAE. And to realise that dream we are implementing a number of projects under the umbrella project, “Vision 2020, Mission 2012”, that will enhance our capability and capacity to excel in both teaching and in research.”
