Lady Luck seemed to have followed Robert from the time he dropped the raffle coupon, which he received for purchasing the spectacles at Optic Art at BurJuman during DSF. His fantastic grand prize included a BMW X5, Dh75,000 worth of diamond jewellery and shopping vouchers worth Dh15,000.
Another shopper at BurJuman Centre, Hussain Abdul Kader, an Indian national, was the second lucky winner at the grand draw. He has won a BMW Z4, a luxury holiday cruise to an enchanting destination in the Far East plus shopping vouchers worth Dh10,000.
Their lucky coupons were picked from among the thousands that were entered for the grand draw. Shoppers spending Dhs. 300 were entitled to a raffle coupon that was entered at weekly draws, as well as the grand draw. The promotion called 'The Big Deal' also offered BMWs in weekly prizes plus diamond jewellery from Damas.
"I was simply shocked when I received the call. I checked at least three times with BurJuman to make sure it was not a joke. This is the first time we have ever won anything. We are so delighted to win, just in time for my wife's birthday. My wife and I always shop at BurJuman because it has a great ambience and the most wonderful stores," said Robert, a marine engineer, who arrived in Dubai just 18 months ago. The couple has a daughter and two sons.
Three other BurJuman shoppers won BMW 3 Series cars that were offered as weekly prizes while three more won diamond jewellery from Damas in the 'Big Deal' promotion. The weekly prize winners of a BMW 3 series car are Haja Mahal from India, Francis Raphad from Philippines and Egyptian national Raham Abdul Hakim Ibrahim. The weekly prize winners of Damas diamond jewellery are Hakam Hassan Al Nablasee, a Jordanian national, Amit Gupta, from India and Pakistani national, Abdul Waheed Khan.
As part of the unique DSF offerings from BurJuman, shoppers also had the chance to take part in an 'Early Bird' event, which offered Dh100,000 worth of gift vouchers.
