Blood donation campaign in Abu Dhabi sees scores of participants

A blood donation campaign at Musaffah Municipal Center was launched by Abu Dhabi City Municipality (ADM), in collaboration with the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi, and the Mobile Blood Bank.

The campaign saw the participation of scores of employees in addition to multitude of customers and visitors. The event was held as part of the municipal system's values aimed at enhancing the communication and solidarity with the civil community organisations and in line with its vision of providing a superior living style and a sustainable environment for residents.

The blood donation campaign comes as part of the municipality's continuous humanitarian initiatives to avail the opportunity for all employees and customers to interact with issues of concern to the community.

Such activities and events support the local community institutions reflect the municipality's vision, which call for a concerted team effort, enhanced partnership with the community, and a commitment to community-related issues.

During the campaign, the municipality highlighted the benefits of blood donation, health education, nutrition, and disease control. It has also distributed booklets and brochures and offered educative material and scientific tips about blood donation.

It also provided blood treatment, separation and transfusion through the mobile blood bank positioned at the patio of Musaffah Municipal Center, which received potential donators who have to undergo medical checkups.

The campaign saw the participation of dozens of the municipality's customers who participated in the blood donation campaign; contributing to the success of the initiative. The municipality has gained the lead in supporting the community especially when it comes to blood donation, where the municipality organised several similar blood donation campaigns, which were well received by community members.
