Book highlights Khalifa’s achievements as President

ABU DHABI — A book containing the highlights the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s performance during the past three years has been published by the Media Affairs Centre attached to Deputy Prime Minister’s office in Abu Dhabi.

Titled, ‘A leader, performance and achievements’ the book carries a report about Shaikh Khalifa’s achievements in the political, economic, social, humanitarian, cultural, scientific and technological fields since November 3, 2004 when he took over as President.

The book attributed the achievements to Shaikh Khalifa’s vision and guidance.

It mentions the President’s efforts have encompassed all interests of the nation, including security, stability, and prosperity of its citizens and residents alike.

The UAE became a hub of progress, according to the book, quoting Shaikh Khalifa as saying: “As a result of political stability and security, the policy of openness introduced and encouraged by the state, sophisticated infrastructure, healthy climate for investment, and the advantages and facilitation given to private sector, we became a centre of focus and held a prominent position on the world investment map.

Adhering to human development and making it the essential basis for the plans and programmes of comprehensive development, the President is quoted by the book as saying, “We have always confirmed that human being is the goal and aim of development and at the same time he is its tool and means. And as long as this tool is effective, it will be able to achieve development…”

The book also carries the President’s statements focusing on the importance of expanding education and developing human, scientific and technological expertise.
