The British Council UAE has announced a spectacular line up for the spring season's performances and events as part of the UK/UAE 2017 Year of Creative Collaboration.
Spanning arts, literature, education, society, sport, science and trade, the year-long creative partnership between the two countries will bring in more than 100 performances such as musicals, craft showcases, master-classes and educational workshops to the UAE this year. The UK/UAE 2017 spring season was announced at an event at the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development in Abu Dhabi recently.
UK/UAE 2017 is a cultural exchange programme between the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates, which celebrates the long-standing relationship between the two countries and looks to strengthen existing cultural and economic ties. The programm-e is supported by the UK government's GREAT Britain campaign.
Shaikh Nahyan Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, said he hoped this year's creative collaboration will help British citizens to better appreciate the power and beauty of the Arabic language. "At the same time, our knowledge of English will enable us to better understand the imaginative power and creative genius of the British people. This year will be a glorious learning experience for us all," he added.
