CBEX chalks out plans to raise worker performance

ABU DHABI - The Centre for Business Excellence (CBEX) at the Zayed University has chalked out several joint programmes with different public and private sectors that aim to reassure the best academic practices provided for the business sectors in the UAE and Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (AGCC) countries.

Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, President of Zayed University, chaired the meeting held to review the CBEX programmes at the University Campus on Tuesday. Other ZU officials also attended the meeting. Following the meeting, Dr Hanif Hassan Al Qassimi, ZU's Vice-Chancellor, said the centre focuses on raising the efficiency and performance of the employees at both government and private sectors, as well as promoting the utilisation of information technology and providing various consultations for different departments and institutions.

The CBEX also offers the EMBA Programme, which attracts several directors and officials from public and private sectors, in partnership with three international universities, namely Kentucky University, Oklahoma State University and Clemson University, said Dr Qassimi.

He said the centre has also implemented several agreements with different government departments such as Dubai Customs, Ports and Free Zones Corporation, under which it provides the 'Manager Development Programme' and conducts a number of training workshops in different customs fields.

The CBEX has also offered courses in 'Human Resources Development' for a number of sectors, after being recognised by the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) based in Virginia, US as the 'Centre for Examination in the UAE and the Gulf', said Dr Qassimi.
