Global Village, member of Tatweer Dubai, is considered as the prime tourism destination at the heart of Dubailand because of its ingenious concept of blending culture and entertainment. Testaments to the rich traditions present at Global Village are the two pavilions dedicated for Africa: the East and West Africa Pavilion and the Senegal Pavilion.
The East and West Africa Pavilion has approximately 60 stalls that are proud to offer various products that all originate from the said countries.
There are African food, clothes, leather goods, beads, accessories, jewellery, home decorations, tableware, and even cutlery made of wood. Also available at the pavilion are the much-sought furniture items like antique chests and chairs.
The African culture is further celebrated at the pavilion with the presence of the Ebony Cultural Troupe and the African Acrobatic Group.
These performers came from Africa only to stage shows for Global Village. Their spectacular acts like acrobats, fire eating and African dances pave the way for pulling the crowd. In these nightly performances, Global Village visitors get to experience the amazing shows that define the African culture.
On the other hand, another pavilion that is meant to showcase the beauty of Africa is the Senegal Pavilion. Although quite smaller as compared to the East and West African Pavilion, the Senegal Pavilion still embodies the exquisite heritage of Africa.
With 24 stalls that sell a huge variety of products that include authentic leather, decorative items, furniture and garments. There is also an African restaurant in this pavilion. There are no nightly shows but Senegal Pavilion is filled with African music that provides visitors a feel of the culture while shopping.
The African pavilions are located near the Global Village food court.
