Voicing strong resentment over adoption of Women's Protection Bill by Punjab Assembly and execution of Punjab governor's killer Mumtaz Qadri, leaders of religious parties in a meeting here said attempts are underway to make the country secular.
The leaders labelled Qadri a martyr who killed governor Salman Taseer for expressing sympathy toward a blasphemy accused Asia Bibi.
"We fear the possibility of the government repealing the blasphemy law in the future to please the West," said a resolution adopted in the meeting which vowed to resist it.
They also warned that any such move would be opposed by all religious groupings in the country.
