The organisation also distributed 180 schoolbags to poor children from different schools in RAK. Saeed Yaqoob Liywaad, Director of the International Humanitarian Society in Ras Al Khaimah, said they had distributed food worth Dh90,000 to over 300 needy and the low-income families in Ras Al Khaimah for the month of Ramadan.
The food packages included, flour, sugar, rice, cooking oil, canned foods and other food stuffs. He said that the organisation also distributed about Dh12,9000 in cash as Zakat to 60 needy families of different nationalities.
These families had been registered with the organisation for Zakat. These included those families who had either lost their bread-earner or had very low income.
