Dubai - The detainee said the good treatment he received from the police officers made him think about converting to Islam

A Chinese national who was detained in Al Qusais police station has converted to Islam.
The detainee said the good treatment he received from the police officers made him think about converting to the religion of forgiveness and mercy. The police officers briefed him for weeks in Chinese about Islam and gave him religious books from the library at the police station.
Colonel Yusuf Aladede, Director of Al Qusais Police Station, said that the detainee found good treatment from the police and he was given brochures in Chinese, which explained the peaceful nature of the religion. He also received a translated version of Holy Quran. "He converted only after getting fully convinced and informed about the humanitarian nature of Islam."
Colonel Aladede; Major Abdullah Rashid Alhvit, deputy director of Al Qusais police station; Major Ahmed Gharib from the detention section; and Sheikh Saud Ahmed Aziz Rahman, preacher at the religious and libraries section at the General Department of Community Happiness of the Dubai police, were present at the time of conversion.
Colonel Aladede stressed that the good treatment detainees receive in all the police stations and correctional institutions in Dubai will contribute to reforming the behaviour of detainees and their return to the right path.
