The Iraqi official hailed the humanitarian assistance extended by the President, His Highness Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, through the RCS, saying that the organisation was the first to deliver relief in the province.

He said that the aid was delivered to the needy directly. The delegation headed by Abdullah Salim Al Dhaheri also met Dr Jamal Abdul Hameed, Minister of Health and Social Affairs in the Kurdish region.

Dr Abdul Hameed underlined the importance of the assistance donated by Shaikh Zayed to Iraqi hospitals.

The delegation toured hospitals in the province and assessed their needs. Meanwhile, the RCS renewed its commitment to support the people of Afghanistan, in line with the directives of Shaikh Zayed.

The RCS reaffirmed its commitment during a meeting here yesterday between Sanaa Darwish, Secretary-General of the RCS, and Rashiddudin Mohammadi, Charge d'Affaires at the Afghan embassy.

The Afghan diplomat expressed his country's gratitude to Shaikh Zayed and Her Highness Shaikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the President's Wife and Chairperson of the UAE Women's Federation, for their sustained assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
