Community Police Awareness Programme on Anti-smoking Day

AL AIN - Community Police units affiliated to Al Ain Police in the Abu Dhabi Police General Headquarters held an awareness programme on Saturday in connection with the celebration of World Anti-Smoking Day on May 31.

As a part of the programme, the hazards of smoking were explained to the public through scientific workshops, field visits and people’s councils in residential areas, First Lieutenant Saif Ali Al Jabri, Director of the Community Police Affairs, Al Ain Branch said.

He said the police were keen on developing a sense of participation among the members of the society. This will help solve the health and social problems that threaten the structure of the society and create awareness among people on the hazards of smoking.

“The participation of the Department was made through cooperation and coordination with the health education committee at the Health Authority-Abu Dhabi and the city centre sector in Al Ain Municipality as well as the Family Development Institution,” he said.
