“The construction of the new concrete barrier all over the Khalid Lagoon is in the second phase as we already completed constructing the concrete barriers behind Al Noor Mosque located on the lagoon. The concrete barrier will also be constructed from the area behind Al Noor Mosque till the Sharjah Central souq,”he said.

Eng. Al Nouman said the new concrete barrier will also feature a railing for the safety of the lagoon visitors and particularly children. An interblock decorated footpath will also be constructed at the edge of the lagoon for safety of walkers.

“To ensure and preserve the beauty of the Khalid Lagoon during the construction process, the process of replacing the existing barriers with the new concrete barrier was done from inside the lagoon through the usage of marine equipment by specialised consultant and contractor,” he added.
