DUBAI - The Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), in association with Four Points Sheraton, brings 'Halwai Contest' during the week long Sweets Surprises. The live cooking competition will take place today at the hotel's Antique Bazaar restaurant.
Saleh Al Geziry, a member of the Sweets Surprises Committee, said that these eventful competitions are a significant part of this fun and frolic week. "The participants will get a chance to display their skills. They will receive appreciation from judges as well as audience. Earlier, they received the praise for their work at home only," said Mr. Al Geziry.
He noted that Sweets Surprises week would throw open for visitors and children sugary cuisines from all over the world. "This event is an example of our endeavour to project Dubai as a cosmopolitan city. Popular delicacies of large number of countries will be available to make people of different nationalities feel at home," added Mr. Al Geziry.
Antique Bazaar, the North Indian specialty restaurant, located at the Four Points Sheraton in Bur Dubai, will celebrate Sweet Surprises week with a live cooking contest. To enter the competition, participants sent their favourite sweet recipes to the hotel where the management team made the tough decision of selecting the 12 top recipes. The 12 winners have been invited to cook their recipes live in the hotel's kitchens.
Points will be given on hygiene, taste and presentation. Judges will include prominent media representatives, sponsors and other culinary experts.
