The male suspect, M.N.S, 36, an Arab national, has also been charged with assaulting and abusing policemen on duty. Two of the women have been charged with engaging in flesh trade and overstaying their visit visa period.
As per court records, the police were tipped off that M.N.S was running a prostitution racket along with three women, K.B.L, 43, from Azerbaijan, A.D, 36, and O.B, 37, both from Uzbekistan.
On May 24 last, a team of Dubai Police posing as decoy customers approached the building in Al Refaa area, where the four were allegedly operating from. The police team met the women suspects at the building’s entrance and once the deal was agreed, they tried to arrest them on the spot.
At this point, M.N.S reached the scene and claimed that one of the women was his wife. During an altercation with the policemen that followed, he also assaulted and abused the latter.
He took the woman he was claiming to be his wife inside the flat and slammed the door.
The other two women told the police that they had actually been forced into the flesh trade by M.N.S. and his accomplice.
All four were arrested by the police. The court has fixed the next hearing in the case on December 25.
The opening ceremony will be held at the Dubai International Stadium on Saturday, January 11
