Fun activities, games and a meaningful Ramadan-themed drama for children are bringing warmth and laughter to many little hearts throughout the UAE this Ramadan.
The Holy month of Ramadan is the time for caring and compassion. Action Care, an educational consultancy in partnership with HSBC Middle East Ltd. is bringing the 'Gift of Giving' events to about 750 disadvantaged children and young teens, orphans and children with disabilities in the UAE for the seventh year running.
These events for children are held in 5 star hotels across the Emirates, coordinated by the Red Crescent Society, Dar Zayed, Beit Al Khair, Al Hemam Training Center in Ajman, Fujairah Welfare Association and the National Charity Schools. The children at SENSES, a residential home for children with special needs, also enjoy a lively event at their center with a catered 5 star Iftar buffet from Le Meridien Dubai Hotel.
The volunteers, HSBC employees, pack toys for the children, assist them with the face-painting, activities and games, and share moments of listening and laughter throughout the event. The dramatized story this year, called "The House that Glows" tells the story of a town that learns the importance of giving and sharing during Ramadan. This year the children are also putting their compassion into practice by creating a personalized greeting card and packing a bag of gifts that will be given to another disadvantaged child in the Emirates. After an Iftar dinner, children return home with gifts and a great memory.
Fatimah Al Mullah, Manager of Orphan Affairs at Emirates Red Crescent in Dubai commented, "Red Crescent is thankful to Action Care for inviting the children to this Fun Day that makes them really happy. They enjoy the drama, activities, Iftar and the wonderful gifts - it is a fantastic program".
Cherryn Kelly, General Manager of Action Care commented, "The Gift of Giving provides an opportunity to create truly memorable experiences for these children".
