The leadership

Crafting a success story in the land of gold involves sheer hard work and determination. James Mathew moved to Dubai in the year 1992 and started working as a Senior Auditor until 1996. A person of acute business acumen and leadership, he couldn't hold back from unleashing his entrepreneur skills for too long. Mathew joined Horwath Mak in 1996 as a Partner, which became a part of Crowe Horwath network in 2008. He carved his niche to be among the management leadership and today, he is the Group CEO of Crowe Horwath in UAE and Oman.
Dr. Khalid Maniar established Horwath Mak, the full-time member firm of Crowe Horwath, in the UAE in 1981. Over the years, Horwath Mak has become a force to reckon with in the UAE in the financial arena with multiple offices in the emirates. With the strong foundation laid by Dr. Maniar on ethical values and practices, the group today is the sixth largest network in the region led by Mathew as the  Group CEO.
Mathew is a powerhouse of knowledge about the practical applications of international auditing and accounting standards and international professional regulations. He takes responsibility for coordinating a range of advisory and support services that help companies enhance and develop strategically focused Corporate Governance, Statutory Audit and Internal Audit frameworks and processes. He has been widely published in Indian publications as well as the Gulf media.
In a career spanning over 25 years of professional experience, Mathew has been associated with illustrious names from the world of international business and governance. Recently, Mathew was elected to the Global Board of Crowe Horwath, being the first person ever from the MENA region to be elected to the prestigious Global Board of the eighth largest accounting and audit firm in the world.
He has served as the Secretary-General of IBPC during the year 2015-17. He was elected as the Chairman of Dubai Chapter of Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) for the term 2012-13. ICAI Dubai is the largest chapter outside India and was adjudged as the 'Best Overseas Chapter' during his tenure.

Our services

Statutory Audit: It is an annual external audit legally required by the government to review the financial records of a company. It relies on the internal audit reports, verification of financial information, documents, and related stock validations

Internal Audit: The main obligation of internal auditors is to evaluate whether risk systems and controls in place within the firm are operating effectively to manage and mitigate risks.
