The award was received in London by Saeed M. Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dewa. who was accompanied by Shouqi Al Yousif, Executive Vice-President of Corporate Support, Dewa.

In his speech, Al Tayer said the honour must go to His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, for his vision and direction-setting strategy plans of Dubai, which have a profound impact on Dewa. Several years back, Dewa had adopted the Balanced Scorecard, to manage strategy, perhaps, the first organisation to implement the same in the UAE, Al Tayer added.

Dewa recently applied for Hall of Fame Award for strategy planning based on the Balanced Scorecard. This is considered the highest global award in this regard and was created to universalise the "prosperous practices" of excellent organisations in implementing the Balanced Scorecard system.

This award was given in a high-profile gathering held in London, and was presented by Dr Robert Kaplan and Dr David Norton, the founders of the award.
