Dh12 million health care centre in RAK soon

DUBAI — The Ministry of Health (MoH) recently approved a project to set up a Primary Health Care Centre in Ras Al Khaimah at a cost of Dh12 million.

The agreement was signed by Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, Minister of Health, and Tawhid Abdullah, CEO of Damas Group, who is sponsoring the project partly.

Al Qutami said that the MoH was striving to achieve true partnership with the private sector. He also praised the efforts of Damas Group for taking part in the development of vital service projects in the country.

He also said that a comprehensive medical centre in RAK would serve a big cluster of citizens and residents in the emirate.

As per the memorandum of understanding, construction work on the centre will start early next month. “The project will be completed in around 14 months,” the minister said.

According to Dr Maryam Mattar, Assistant Undersecretary for Public Health and Primary Healthcare at the MoH, “The centre will include specialised clinics for the treatment of diabetes, asthma and smoking, in addition to the primary health care services.”
