A huge fire erupted in a dhow anchored in Dubai Creek near the Al Maktoum Bridge on Monday afternoon.
Mahmood Hamed, spokesperson of the Dubai Civil Defense, said that authorities received information about a fire that erupted in a wooden boat anchored at Dubai Creek at dock No. 6 at Diera side when the fire erupted at around 1.15 pm. Two crew members attempted to put out the fire, but it spread out of control.

The crew guided the ship towards the dock where large amounts of stored cargo caught fire.

Fire brigades from three civil defense stations including Hamriya, Port Saeed and Karama rushed to the site.

The dhow was full of goods and was being loaded when the fire erupted.
