DM awareness campaign on pesticide, animal slaughter

The Public Health Services Department of Dubai Municipality on Tuesday launched a two-day awareness campaign in Etihad Mall under the slogan ‘Be Safe - Be Healthy’ on the use of pesticides and animal slaughter.

Ahmed Hassan Al Shammari, Acting Director of Public Health Services Department, and other senior officials of the Municipality, were present on the launch occasion.

The campaign aims to increase awareness of healthy practices among community members in the field of pest control and animal health-care, including epidemic and occupational diseases, and the risks of slaughtering animals anywhere except abattoirs .

Al Shammari said that the campaign includes an awareness exhibition on other services rendered by the department with the participation of medical companies, where visitors are offered medical checkups such as blood pressure, sugar, obesity and cholesterol. Leaflets and awareness booklets, gifts and prizes are distributed to the public.
