The initiative is known as ‘Cool Summer’ and aims to reach workers across Dubai. “Summer shouldn’t be always hot to labourers who work in sites for long. We should create for them some cool moments,” said Khaled Suletin, Head of the section, after flagging off the vehicles carrying soft drink cartons to be distributed. “Our distribution package includes 150 boxes of mineral water, 150 cartons of juice and 500 cartons of leban,” added Khaled Suletin.
The Dubai Municipality also distributed 1,000 sandwiches along with bottles of soft drinks. The distribution drive was organised for workers in Hamriya Port, Al Mamzar Area, Al Khan Road and Jumeirah.
Khaled Suletin said his section has more plans to support labourers during the summer in collaboration with other departments at the Dubai Municipality.
