The Corporate Marketing and Relations Department of Dubai Municipality has launched the third chapter of its ‘Mir Ramadan’ charity initiative under the slogan ‘Ramadan is Near - Let’s be Near’ aimed at helping needy people during the holy month.
The fund, organised in collaboration with the Dar Al Ber Society, will be collecting donations and food from employees till July 18.
Mohamed Al Noori, Director of the department, said the move came as part of the civic body’s keenness to participate in humanitarian activities as a leading service-oriented organisation in the county. “The Mir Ramadan fund is formed to collect donations and raw materials of food from employees of the civic body and distribute them to different charity organisations, which help needy people in the country, especially during Ramadan,” Al Noori said.
“Over the last two years, we helped a good number of people with the help of our employees. This year we hope to collect more, considering the request of charity organisations and beneficiaries.”
Collection boxes have been distributed in the main building of the municipality and at Al Twar and Al Manara centres.
