DUBAI - The Dubai Municipality will be laying sewage network lines in Al Barsha-1 and Al Khawaneej areas at a total cost of Dh555.85 million.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Acting Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said the two projects, which are expected to be completed by May 2010, form part of the civic body's plans to link new residential areas with the city's main drainage network. While the first project will serve the south of Al Barsha-1 area and will involve major sewage, storm-water lines and house connections, the second will serve Al Khawaneej area.
In another development, Dubai Municipality has begun the construction of a Dh55 million drainage network in Al Nahda and Al Mamzar areas. The project covering 328 hectares would involve sewage connections to 250 houses and other buildings as well as storm-water network in the entire area.
